Welcome Adam

So, Adam, welcome to the team! As you know we like to have a little Q&A, so let’s start things off with the big one..

Why did you choose to become a developer?

I chose to become a developer because I like building things that actually get used. There’s something really satisfying about taking an idea, or a problem someone’s stuck with, and turning it into something real, simple, and reliable.

What are the challenges you've faced in your career as a developer?

One of the biggest challenges in my career has been that nothing ever stands still. Tech moves fast, frameworks change, best practices evolve, and what felt modern a couple of years ago can quickly start to feel outdated. Keeping up with that pace, while still delivering day to day work, can be tough.

Got a good developer joke?

Why do developers hate nature?

Because it has too many bugs.

What is your favourite thing about being a developer?

There’s a really good feeling when you take a blank file or a problem, build a solution step by step, and then someone actually uses it and it makes their day easier. I love that mix of problem-solving and creativity

If you could travel anywhere in the world where would you go?

Japan

What are you most looking forward to now you are part of the dotcraft team?

I’m most looking forward to getting stuck into new projects and building great things as part of an amazing team.

How do you keep up to date with the latest trends?

I keep up to date by following a few trusted blogs/newsletters, checking release notes for the tools I use, and trying out anything genuinely useful on small projects before adopting it.

(Random question generator) If you could do anything, what would your dream job be?

My dream job would be doing something in the film industry where I’m involved in bringing stories to life, even if it’s behind the scenes.

Finally, what question would you like to ask the next new team member?

If you could only eat one cuisine for the rest of your life, what are you choosing?
